Course overview

Since leaving the EU, many businesses must now complete customs declarations and comply with extra customs regulations. It is likely that HMRC will conduct an audit on your organisation at some point and they will expect to see evidence that your declarations and supporting paperwork are correct and you have adequate systems and processes in place to manage and control them.

It is essential that you and your colleagues understand what HMRC will be looking for and the questions they will ask. Even if you use an agent or forwarder, it is your responsibility to obtain and confirm the accuracy of customs documents.

This half-day course will help you anticipate the requirements of HMRC auditors. It explains the documentation that must be in place and the procedures and best practices that will enable effective ongoing record-keeping. The course will be packed with helpful tips and advice and many real-life examples.

The presenter is an expert in international trade and has helped hundreds of businesses get safely through a HMRC audit.

Who should attend?

If you deal with import/export administration, despatch and shipping, procurement, compliance, business finance or taxation you will benefit greatly from attending this course.

It is essential for anyone that previously only traded within the EU and now needs to understand the new procedures following Brexit.
