Course overview

The Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight system (CHIEF) is closing for imports in September and exports in March along with the National Exports System (NES). From 31 March 2023, The Customs Declaration Services (CDS) will be the single platform for all customs declarations. There are some significant differences between the two systems, so it is important that you know what to do before your agents start using the new CDS system for declarations for you.

This brand new 90-minute course is aimed at businesses whose customs declarations are completed by their freight forwarder, customs broker and courier companies. It will provide practical advice and guidance on the new service and how to check the customs declarations. It will give clear examples of the changes and set out what preparatory steps you need to take before September.

The course is presented by our international trade expert, David Hooper, who has already helped many businesses adapt their systems in readiness for the changes.
